Jeff Lamy is entering his second year as Head Varsity Boys Coach at Methuen High School. He currently holds his Advanced National Diploma from the NSCAA, and has recently taken over ownership of the Portuguese American Soccer Academy (P.A.S.A). In addition to coaching at Methuen High School, Jeff is also the Head Coach for the P.A.S.A FC GU-15 Div 1 Maple team, and the Head Coach for the GU-16 Massachusetts State Futsal team. He was also named the 2009-10 Massachusetts Futsal Association Girls Coach of the Year.
Before he began his coaching career Jeff was a Captain at Lowell High School, and also played division 2 soccer at the University of New Haven, and UMass Lowell.
Following back-to-back 1 win seasons, Jeff took over the boy’s soccer program at Methuen High School in 2010 and began implementing his style of play from day 1.
“I knew that, bringing in 3 new coaches and implementing a new style of play was going to be a big challenge for us, and a bigger change for the boys. Coming in last year I knew we weren’t going to be the most skilled team in the MVC, but I was very impressed with the effort that the boys gave throughout the entire season. Overall, I thought we did a great job of laying down a foundation that we can build off of now and for years to come. That being said, I’m really looking forward to the upcoming season and the opportunity to take this program to a new level.”
With a foundation in place, Jeff and his staff are looking forward working with Methuen Youth Soccer to help develop a successful soccer program that is exciting, safe, and most important. . .fun.
